Yet again, another delayed article! This hike was pretty cool, but my favorite part about it was it was the first hike my roommate and I brought our new cameras to start our journey with (very very amateur) photography! Hardy Falls through the Pool of the Winds is a HARD 2 mile out and back that is rated as moderate everywhere else but let me tell you somethin... this was UPHILL!
Although my photos aren't the greatest, you can still tell that Hardy Falls is a three tiered waterfall that feeds into the Pool of the Winds. We hiked this early in the morning, starting at the trailhead around 8 or 9am which thankfully means we missed most of the crowds! Going on a hot day, by 11am the pools were fulls of kids in bathing suits but hiking early made it so no people ended up in our photos!
Hardy Falls is within Beacon Rock State Park and the trailhead is very well marked, along with awesome park rangers during the spring and summer seasons to help people find parking! There are two ways to get across the river from Oregon, both show up easily on google maps, but I highly suggest taking the Bridge of Gods route. The bridge is a gorgeous view over the Columbia River that makes for a distracting drive lol
From the parking lot of Hardy Falls, you have a beautiful view of Beacon Rock without having to do the ridiculously uphill 1.5 mile hike!
