So this hike happened completely by accident, I was hoping to just do a quick/tough hike that I've done multiple times in the past so I was comfortable doing it alone. Once I got to the top of Angel's Rest Lookout (about 2.5miles up) I noticed if you turn right instead of left towards the cliff, the trail actually continues... I started walking just to see where it lead and after about 1.5 miles in a ran into a woman named Bev. I asked Bev if the walk had any scenery coming up soon or if I should turn back around towards Angel's Rest again- Bev said DEFINITELY keep going. After about another mile, I hit the first waterfall, and the rest was history.
I had to do some research once I got home to figure out what these waterfalls are actually called, they're so secluded most hiking apps/maps didn't even have them- so here's all I've got!
If you are going to do this hike, definitely do not do it alone. There were 30-40 minute stretches where I didn't see anyone, and as great as that is- it can be somewhat dangerous. Make sure to pack lots of food and water because it is a strenuous 8 mile hike. I also advise you have one person park a car at each end. Because I was not planning on doing the full 8 miles connecting Angel's Rest to Wahkeena Falls, I did not have enough energy/food/time to hike another 8 back to my car and ended up hitchhiking a ride back to my car at Angel's Rest- I DO NOT ADVISE THIS, especially for anyone traveling alone. Once you get to Wahkeena Falls though, it's only another short half mile to the Multnomah State Park where you can grab a great lunch and f course- see another waterfall!
